NICOLA OLYSLAGERS

GPCC congratulates Nicola Olyslagers (nee McDermott) on her incredible achievements and ongoing professional career.

Nicola is an Olympic gold medallist, holds two World Championship golds, and cleared a 2.04m high jump to become oceanian record holder.

Nicola has been recognised as Female Field Athlete of the Year for 2025.

TIM OWERS

Past student Tim Owers is a very talented artist and we congratulate Tim on his achievements:

CHRISTIE CATLEY

Christie is a biomedical science researcher, and her PhD work focuses on intestinal healing and gut health. Christie has been recognised for her research achievements, receiving travel grants to attend conferences, awards at both university and international levels, and the People’s Choice Award in the 2025 Three Minute Thesis competition. She is supported by an Australian Government Research Training Scholarship, a prestigious award for her PhD studies.

CALEB WALTON

Congratulations to Caleb Walton who is now a qualified Aircraft Technician in the Royal Australian Air Force, working on the incredible F-35A Lightning II in Newcastle.

INGE GOOSEN

Congratulations to Inge Goosen (former Prefect and Dux) currently completing an MD at Macquarie University and will commence as a Junior Doctor at Gosford Hospital in 2026. 

JARROD SLOAN

Congratulations to Jarrod Sloan, GPCC Class of 2018. 

He is a professional Quantity Surveyor working full-time at RLB Wellington, New Zealand. 

ELLA SANDEMAN

Ella was a finalist in the student category for her artwork titled 'Serenity' in the 2021 National Capital Art Prize. 

Ella is also an Illustrator, you can see her art in the book "The Christmas Story with Daisy and Ziggy".
