Starting at a new school is an exciting milestone, and we are committed to making your transition as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
This page brings together important information, key resources, and helpful links to guide you through your first weeks and answer many of the questions new families often have.

Portal Access
The College runs an Administration Software package which incorporates both Student and Parent Portals.
Parents - 'Parent Lounge' and 'Schoolbox'
Students - 'Schoolbox' and 'Student Cafe'
Access will be granted to both Parents & Students once a student commences at the College. An email will be issued with login details, and our ICT department is available to assist with any queries or trouble shooting with portal access. ICT can be contacted at servicedesk@melos.education or via our College switchboard (02) 4363 1266.
On these portals you will be able to update contact details, update medical information, book student learning interviews, notify of absenteeism, access timetables, access teacher email addresses, manage fees, and provide permissions for excursions/incursions.

Handbooks
Our Student Handbooks contain lots of helpful information for you and your child as they begin school at GPCC. They include information about curriculum, homework, health and wellbeing, stationery requirements, uniform policy, pick up and drop off procedures, and much more.

Primary School
Start of Day: 8:45am
Recess: 11:00 - 11:30am (Students eat together under supervision for 5 minutes then play for 25 minutes)
Lunch: 1:00 - 1:45pm (Students eat together for 10 minutes then play for 35 minutes)
End of Day: 3:15pm
Students are permitted on campus from 8:20am
Secondary School
Start of Day: 8:45am
Recess: 10:50 - 11.15am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri), 10:35 - 11:00am (Wed)
Lunch: 1:20pm - 2:00pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri), 12:45pm - 1:25pm (Wed)
End of Day: 3:15pm
- Secondary School operates with a 2-week cycle – Red Week and Blue Week.
Students are permitted on campus from 8:20am
Bell Times
Student Technology
PRIMARY SCHOOL
All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are provided an iPad which remains in the classroom. Students are required to bring their own Headphones to fit an iPad, to be labelled in a soft bag. We recommend purchasing 'volume limited' headphones.
SECONDARY SCHOOL
Year 7
GPCC are now adopting the new Neo MacBook program, starting with Year 7 in 2027, and then each Year 7 group in the years following.
Instead of purchasing a device upfront plus AppleCare, GPCC will provide a MacBook and charge a minimal annual tech levy each year (estimated at $350 for 2027). Devices will be purchased, pre-programmed and allocated by our ICT team for students to use for educational purposes at school and home. Your family will eventually become owners of the device once the College rolls over the account for new devices to be provided.
Minor repairs to the College issued devices will be covered by the College, but full losses or repairs will incur a small additional fee (estimated at $150 in 2027).
OTHER GRADES
At GPCC, we run a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program using Apple MacBook Air devices for students in Years 7-12* (*Year 7 2027 will move to the new program as outlined above).. Parents are required to provide their children with a suitable device.

Ordering Your Device
We will send you everything you need to know about ordering your device for GPCC once you are enrolled and due to start at the College. If you wish to get a head start on ordering your device, please carefully read the details below.

- Once logged in, select the relevant student program
- Follow the prompts to choose your device (see Device Specifications below), insurance cover (see AppleCare+ details below) and device accessories.
- Enter your personal details.
- Choose your preferred delivery method: at home or pick up at a JB Hi-Fi store.
- Select a payment method and complete your order.

AppleCare+
We strongly recommend purchasing AppleCare+ for your device. More information on AppleCare can be found here.
Parking & Traffic
At the College we endeavour to keep a safe environment for parents, students and staff, especially in our busy bus bay, parking and drop off areas.
The College has developed detailed plans to enable safe access to our grounds.

Canteen
The College outsources the operation of the Canteen to an external provider called 'The Munchery'.
The Munchery open the canteen for business every day from 8:00am – 2:00pm and accept lunch orders from students and staff across the counter and also electronically. A comprehensive, healthy selection of food is available for Recess and Lunch (see menu below).
Online Ordering
The Munchery have partnered with Munch Monitor (www.munchmonitor.com) to provide an online ordering and payment system. Parents access this system by browsing the Munch Monitor site.

'The Messenger' is our fortnightly College newsletter highlighting what is coming up for the weeks or Term ahead.
The Messenger is emailed to all parents/carers on a Friday afternoon. You can view past newsletters at any time on our newsletter page.
