These outstanding creations are a testament to the talent, creativity, dedication, and countless hours of hard work invested by our students throughout the year. Each project reflects not only exceptional craftsmanship and technical skill, but also perseverance, problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence.

Biltong Meat Drying Cabinet
I have designed this ‘Biltong’ Meat Drying Cabinet from Tasmanian Oak and was designed to be strong and functional. It has stainless steel rods and hooks inside to hang the meat while it dries. A fan and ventilation holes help air move through the cabinet. A light bulb can provide a small amount of heat to help with drying. The cabinet has a drip tray to catch moisture and keep it clean.

Coffee Table
I made a two-tiered oval shaped coffee table with multiple drawers, made primarily of Tasmanian Blackwood.
The curved edges were constructed by cutting multiple kerf cuts into the timber and leaving a small piece of timber on the outside edge to bend. The timber was soaked in water, then heated and bent to shape. The last process after the timber had dried was to glue it into the curved shape.
I chose to have a glass tabletop so that you see into the top drawer of my coffee table.

Display Cabinet
I created my display cabinet with the goal of being able to display items in an aesthetically pleasing format.
Made using Merbau, Tasmanian oak and a small amount of Jarrah I constructed the Drawer fronts using domino joints making sure the two timbers are at different heights creating a nice texture. I created the crown and plinth to add some depth and interest, keeping the cabinet from just being a rectangle.

Collapsible Workbench
I have made and designed a sturdy workbench with a traditional early 20th Century design that can be used as a woodworking bench and a study desk. The bench is completely collapsible by using traditional handmade knock down joinery such as the tusked mortise tenon joining the legs.
It is made entirely from 100% recycled hardwood with the benchtop being made from blackbutt beams laminated together.

2-Tier Coffee Table with Chess Board
I designed and constructed this coffee table for playing board games. The separate top components create a unique design while providing extra height for playing chess. Tasmanian Oak was chosen to complement the decor at home.
The reversible chessboard allows one side to create a flat table-top, while the other provides an elevated chess surface. The drawers provide storage for board games, while magnetic handles make it easy to remove the panel and switch to the chessboard.
The table was constructed using half-rebated mitre, domino and rebated joints, providing strength and a high-quality finish.

Mountain Bike Workbench
I designed this workbench to suit my needs for a bicycle specific workspace, that could store high end tools such as bearing presses, torque wrenches and socket sets.
As the main feature, I chose a piece of live edge spotted gum as the top of my workbench, creating an aesthetically pleasing workspace that is not normally experienced in bike mechanics. I executed a large epoxy pour to fill the gaps and cracks of the timber, accompanied by the bowtie joints seen in the top to serve as a wedge stopping the crack from further spreading.

Boat Shaped Bookshelf
I have made a boat shaped bookshelf. I constructed the curved sides by gluing five layers of plywood together on a curved jig I made for bending and setting the correct shape. I have two fixed shelves, 3 movable shelves and one drawer.
I used the lathe to turn the figurehead that is at the bow of the boat, inside the figurehead there is an LED light to highlight and enhance the piece.
