HEARTFELT THANK YOU Mrs Jane McLarty

This week we farewell our Deputy Principal, Jane McLarty, after nineteen years of faithful service. Jane has shaped countless lives with wisdom, care and quiet dedication, and she will be missed. On behalf of our whole community, thank you, Jane. We wish you every blessing for the road ahead.

Foundations

Next week we gather for our Foundation Day assembly, a moment each year when we pause to remember why Green Point Christian College exists and the God on whom it was built. Our reading for the day is Psalm 100, and it speaks directly to what a foundation is.

When the College opened its doors in 1982, it was founded on a simple conviction. That children flourish when their learning is grounded in the truth that they are known and loved by God. More than four decades on, that foundation has not shifted.

Psalm 100 is an ancient song of praise, and at its centre sits a line that every foundation depends on. "Know that the Lord, He is God. It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture." There is such freedom in those words. We did not make ourselves, and we do not hold ourselves together. Our worth is not something we build. It is something we receive.

This is the foundation we want every student to stand on. Not their marks, not their achievements, not the shifting approval of others, but the settled truth that they belong to a good and faithful God.

Psalm 100 goes on to remind us that His truth endures to all generations. A foundation is not laid only for the moment. It holds weight for those who come after. When I look across our community and see families whose parents once walked these same grounds as students, I am reminded that we are part of something that stretches beyond any single year.

So this Foundation Day, in the words of the psalmist, we serve the Lord with gladness and enter His gates with thanksgiving. We give thanks for the vision of those who came before us and for the God who has sustained this College through every season.

At home this week, you might ask your children a simple question. What are the things in our family that do not change, no matter what happens? It is a gentle way to talk about the foundations we build our lives upon.

2026 Christian Schools Community Profile: Parent Survey

Christian Schools Australia (CSA) are excited to announce that the 2026 Christian Schools Community Profile: Parent Survey is now open for all parents of our College to complete. This is the only national survey of its kind that is specifically designed for Christian school communities and seeks to gather key information regarding the perceptions, levels of satisfaction and priorities of Christian school families as well as their demographic profiles and the way families engage, support and interact with their local Christian school communities. It will be conducted amongst all families with children enrolled in participating Christian schools.

We would like to encourage all parents to complete this important survey. The survey will be conducted online and will only take 15-20 minutes to complete. The survey can be accessed at any convenient time within the next few weeks on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

All parents of our College community can access the survey now. Please refer to the email sent to parents (24 August) containing a link to the survey.

All responses to the survey are anonymous.

Please do not hesitate to contact Gretchen Taylor (Office Manager | PA to Executive) or myself if you have any general queries about the survey.

Thank you for your valued input into our Christian school community and Christian schooling across Australia.
