An Education for Life

Thank you for considering Green Point Christian College for your child's education. I recognise that choosing a school is one of the most significant decisions you will make as a parent, and we don't take lightly the trust you place in us. 

Green Point Christian College was established in 1982 from the vision of Green Point Baptist Church. Over the years, we have grown into a vibrant learning community, yet we have remained committed to what matters most: knowing each child, caring for each child, and equipping each child for life. 

Our purpose is straightforward yet profound. We seek to equip students for a productive life in which they freely engage in redemptive action in our broken world, being agents of positive change. This is not education for education's sake. It is education for life, grounded in a holistic approach that honours the academic, spiritual, social, emotional and physical aspects of who we are as human beings created by God.

At the heart of our approach is a deep conviction that every child has dignity because they are made in God's image. This shapes everything we do. It means we seek to see the potential in every student, not simply academic potential, but the potential to contribute good to the world, to build flourishing communities, and to live lives of meaning and purpose. It means we take character formation as seriously as we take curriculum. It means we believe learning is not just about acquiring knowledge, but about becoming the kind of person who uses that knowledge wisely and well. 

At GPCC we also believe deeply in the family. We recognise that you, as parents, are the primary educators of your children, and our role is to partner with you in this vital work. This partnership is not transactional but relational. When it works well, it sees families and the college working together, turning towards each other in the challenges, celebrating the successes, and walking alongside one another through the inevitable ups and downs of raising young people. 

Our teachers and staff are deeply professional and exceptional. They are not simply subject experts, though they are that. They are people who care deeply about your child's flourishing, who model what it means to live well, and who bring both professional excellence and genuine care into the classroom every day. They understand that adolescence is not primarily about achieving academic success, but about discovering who you are and determining what future that will lead you to pursue.
