Library
Our College library offers dedicated areas designed for both Primary and Secondary students, and supports a love of reading, learning and creativity.
Primary
Primary students visit weekly to borrow and return books, while the Teacher Librarian supports research skills, referencing, the Premier’s Reading Challenge, and the use of digital resources including World Book and Wheelers eBooks.
Each lunchtime, the Library comes alive with a range of engaging activities including Lego, colouring, games, puzzles, and craft. More than just a place to read, the Library is a calm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where students can connect, create, and explore within the comfort of a familiar routine and supportive space.
Secondary
Our Secondary library is an inspiring space for students to learn, read, collaborate and grow, featuring a comfortable and dedicated Senior study area designed to support focused learning and independent study.
From Year 9, students are required to submit assignments using APA7 referencing, with support provided by classroom teachers and the Teacher Librarian. The Library’s referencing and information literacy programs help students develop strong research and academic skills for lifelong learning. Digitally submitted assignments are also scanned for plagiarism and used as a teaching tool, particularly in Years 7 and 8, to help students build confidence in ethical research and referencing practices.
Students undertaking Distance Education subjects also study within the Library, where they are supported by the Teacher Librarian in accessing online lessons, communicating with teachers, and managing the submission and receiving of coursework.
Green Point Christian College acknowledges God our Father, the creator and giver of all life, and the Darkinjung people who are the traditional custodians of this land. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We pray God's blessings over all indigenous people groups, and we ask for His wisdom as we love and respect each other as God intended.
