Primary
Our Primary School provides a vibrant, exciting and supportive learning environment.
Welcome from Mrs Amanda Rutlidge - Head of Primary
At GPCC, we believe an excellent education equips students for life beyond school. Students are encouraged to develop perseverance, resilience, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and strong learning habits within a supportive and engaging environment.
We follow the NSW curriculum across all Key Learning Areas, while integrating Biblical values and truths throughout learning. Recognising that every student learns differently, our staff are committed to providing a rigorous and differentiated educational experience that inspires curiosity, discovery, and growth.
Kindergarten to Year 2
Starting school is an exciting milestone, and at GPCC we are committed to providing a caring and nurturing environment where students can grow in confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Through explicit direct instruction, our teachers build strong foundations across all curriculum areas while also supporting students’ social and emotional development. Students are encouraged to become self-aware, make positive choices, and learn well alongside others.
Learning in K–2 is engaging and diverse, with students using College iPads across the curriculum and participating in specialist lessons including Information Technology/STEM, Music, and Physical Education.
Years 3 to 6
As students move into the senior years of Primary school, they develop greater independence, self-awareness, and responsibility for their learning. Our teachers provide intentional pastoral care and personalised support, working closely with families to nurture each child’s wellbeing and growth.
Through the NSW curriculum, students are encouraged to think critically and creatively, recognise their strengths, and set meaningful goals. Learning is enriched through College-issued iPads for all students in Years 3–6, specialist lessons in Information Technology, Music, and Physical Education, and overnight excursions that promote personal growth and curriculum connection.
Year 6 students are also encouraged to develop leadership skills through opportunities such as the Student Leadership Team, House Captains, Primary Service Team, and Buddy Program.
