Wellbeing
We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing and Christ-centred environment where every student is known, valued and cared for.
At Green Point Christian College, student wellbeing is also embedded within our Formation Framework. Students flourish when formed in wisdom according to our Graduate/Learner attributes.
As students are formed in wisdom and guided by Christian truth, they grow in inner wholeness, relational harmony, resilience, clarity of mind, and a sense of purpose within their family, college, and wider community.
Across every dimension of College life — curricular, co-curricular, and communal — we intentionally nurture Godly character, collaboration, discernment, creativity, lifelong learning, compassion, and engagement. Through Scripture, meaningful relationships, service, and learning experiences, students are encouraged to develop integrity, humility and courage.
Primary
Student wellbeing in Primary School is intentionally nurtured through a range of caring initiatives and programs designed to help every child feel safe, connected and supported. From the much-loved Wednesday Wellbeing Wagon and Marshmallow, our white wellbeing bunny, to friendship groups and participation in NSW Health wellbeing initiatives, students are encouraged to build positive relationships and develop a strong sense of belonging within the College community.
A special part of wellbeing at GPCC is Fletcher, our therapy dog, who welcomes students during Thursday morning Kiss and Drop and spends time with children throughout the morning. Across Kindergarten to Year 6, students also engage in The Resilience Project, which equips children with practical tools for life through a focus on gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and emotional literacy. Together, these initiatives help foster resilience, confidence and emotional wellbeing in a caring Christian environment.
Secondary
Wellbeing in Secondary is intentionally woven into the daily life of the College.
Each day, Secondary students participate in a dedicated 20-minute Equip session. This purposeful time includes devotions, and opportunities to strengthen relationships with both God and one another. For students in Years 7–9, Equip also includes the PeaceWise program, equipping students with practical skills for managing relationships, resolving conflict, and communicating well.
Social and emotional learning is further supported through PDHPE programs delivered throughout the year, helping students develop resilience, emotional awareness, and healthy interpersonal skills.
Year 7 students are also supported through a Peer Support program during Term 1, where they meet in small groups led by trained Year 11 student leaders. These sessions help students settle into Secondary school, understand expectations, build friendships, and develop a strong sense of belonging. The relationships formed often continue throughout their schooling journey. Peer Support leaders apply for these roles and undertake leadership training, with many later progressing into prefect leadership positions within the College.
Equipped for Life
Green Point Christian College acknowledges God our Father, the creator and giver of all life, and the Darkinjung people who are the traditional custodians of this land. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We pray God's blessings over all indigenous people groups, and we ask for His wisdom as we love and respect each other as God intended.
