Extra Curricula Activities

Junior School

Providing opportunity for children to try as many different activities as possible is an important aspect of a Junior School education. Therefore, the boys and girls have an array of choices, including:

Chess, Choir, Band, Cathedral Club, Farm Visits, Student Representative Council, Culture Club, Writer’s Club, Crusaders, Public Speaking, Maths Club, Recorder, lunchtime Art Classes, Knitting Club, Computers, Worship Leading as well as the active After Schools program.  Children in the Primary School also participate in School and House sport on Fridays.  Sport on a wider scale is available for interested students in many sporting teams.

Some exciting presentations are put on by visiting performers, for example “Brainstorm Productions”, an anti-bullying program using Drama.  Year 5 participates in an overnight trip during the year and Year 6 heads off to Canberra for their annual excursion to the Nation’s Capital.  Students in Upper Primary are involved in the 40 Hour Famine.  Many students are also involved in fundraising through Save the Children, World Vision and Red Cross.

Secondary School

Students in Secondary have the opportunity to join in lunchtime Bible Studies to discuss and debate the important questions of life with students of all ages.

The College has representative teams in Chess, Mock Trial, Chess, Debating and Public Speaking.  Also talented and interested students can join in the Engineering Challenge.  The Student Representative Council operates in Middle School and meets to discuss students’ needs and requests.  Several mission activities and trips are undertaken by students in Years 9-12:  Backyard Blitz, 40 Hour Famine, Tongan Link, Vietnam Mission and Charleville Mission.  Fundraising for several mission organisations is also undertaken throughout the year.  Many opportunities exist for talented Music students to join our Concert Band, Worship Band and many small ensembles.  Sport is available to the National level in a wide variety of sports for any interested and talented students

The College provides many opportunities for Senior Students to develop leadership skills not the least of which is our system of College Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects.  The leaders in our College are given the opportunity to lead tours on Open Day and to sit and talk with visitors to our College who are looking at enrolling their children.
